Acer C731

Last year, we purchased the Acer C730 and distributed to our 3rd, 6th, & 9th grade students. After a half year of use, the C730 has proven to be a durable machine. There has not been any C730's turned in for a broken keyboard or bottom case. The old model (C720) had numerous issues with these parts being broken on a regular basis. The biggest issue with the Acer C730 Chromebooks is the keyboards have had some typing issues. However, the warranty covers those issues and relieves the cost of purchasing a new part.

The Acer C731 is a new version of the C730. This model comes with a few upgrades that makes it more appealing than the C730.  The battery life of the Acer C731 can last up to 12 hours. Just like the C730, it also has a spill resistant keyboard that is able to withstand up to 11 ounces of water. The keyboard key caps are recessed to keep them from being easily removed. It also has 4GB of memory compared to 2GB in the Acer C730. The Acer C731 can sustain drops up to 48 inches and handle 132 pounds of downward force on its lid. The Acer C731 is obviously an upgrade and seems to be more durable than the Acer C730.
