CSI Students Reviews

At first glance, the Acer Chromebook R11 appears very similar to previous chromebooks used in our district. However, a further look reveals that there are many differences. One of the most prominent features of the R11 is the 360 degree rotation of the screen. And what goes best with a 360 degree rotation? A touch screen of course. One of the largest advantages to this chromebook however will be the familiarity for the students with the features on the computer. The R11 is setup very similar to the C720 and C730 models. Some of the only disadvantages would be the easily broken touch screen and cost. Every other feature is very nice.

With touch screen computers, the screens tend to break easier. Since the R-11 is a two in one, the hinges have a higher probability of breaking. The chromebook is a very nice size for school use. The touchpad and keyboard have nice response times. Scratch resistant screen is extremely handy for school use. It weighs less than 3 lbs and has 3 usb ports.

A very basic Chromebook with minimal features, but has a flippable 11.6 inch LED Hd screen And a reversible screen that turns the computer into a tablet. On the other hand the flippable screen proves dangerous to people who are clumsy or uncareful. But there is also an aluminum cover for extra drop protection.

The acer R11 can bend anyway you want, this makes for great versatility and mobility. It has very fast wireless internet speed. The metallic color could easily get dirty. It appears clean and white but will collect dust. This Chromebook can support high quality videos because of the fast USB port.

When I reviewed the Acer Chromebook R 11, I found it to be much like the Lenovo N22 Touch. The material covering it did seem to be just as sturdy and not as likely to get dirty, but it was more sleek when compared to the N22. Everything about it seemed to be just like N22 other than the fact that it could fold into a tablet and the sound quality of the speakers was significantly better. I found that the tablet function did seem to be useful for some things, but like I said for the N22 Touch, it just seems like a function that we don’t really need. The cost to replace or fix the screen would be significantly higher than if we just get a normal laptop. It would cost the school more money than we can afford to lose.

The fact that this is able to turn into a tablet is pretty good, but it makes it that much easier for it to be broken and scratched. When it is in tablet mode, the screen is very bright and the resolution is amazing. On the other hand, if it broke, I feel that it would be a lengthy repair. Given that most of my peers have not reached the point of maturity where they actually take care of things, it would not be wise to make these our new standard.

I think this is too much, way too much technology for the school setting. The touch screen would cause problems with people messing around. It also flips to a tablet and kids could turn it into a tablet set it on their lap and play games. I think this because that is something i would do. It is a very nice chromebook but it’s too much for younger kids. That is something that would be more properly used at college level.

Another chromebook that I believe can be a top one for kids to use in the classroom is the Acer R11.  It has a 11.6 inch screen that has a 360 degree bend that is also touch screen. It has two ways to be used. One is by using it as a actual laptop/chromebook.  The second way it can be used is by folding it into a tablet.  This also comes with negatives.  Being the chromebook is touch screen, it will more than likely always need to be cleaned.  There will be a bunch of finger prints and just the usual daily grime. The chromebook also comes with stereo speakers, which sound very clear. Clocking in at 2.76lbs, it’s very lightweight making it easier for people to carry around. In my opinion this is a chromebook I could see the school purchasing for kids.

The Acer 411 is cool because it turns from a chromebook to a tablet. The size is an average size. The touch is good. The speakers are good and loud and clear. Being pretty small it does make it easily portable. The touch may make the screen get dirtier faster. The camera has good quality. Overall I think this is a good chromebook as long as people use it properly.

This was my favorite chromebook simply because it can turn into a tablet and its touch screen. I like laptops that can do that I think it is awesome. The speakers on the Acer were way better than all the other 3 that I reviewed. I listen to music a lot. I love how the speakers were, they were clear, loud, couldn’t really hear any bass, but it’s a laptop what do you expect. The screen isn’t to terribly big, but it’s not small. It’s the perfect size. The network is the same but the laptop runs faster than the others. The keyboard on the screen is really nice and I love how it has swype text on it. It’s so much easier to type when it is in tablet form. The one nice thing about the acer is that the exterior is nice and strong, and it is very sturdy. The only bad thing about it is that it can turn into a tablet. I just wouldn’t want people to break the laptop.

The Acer Touch screen is the touch screen version of the laptops we have now. The touch screen is new for this school and it’s in style. The camera quality is quite a bit better on the Acer Touch than the Chromebooks we have now. The speakers exceeded my standards and are very clear in laptop mode. While the touchscreen, camera quality and speaks are pretty good for a laptop/tablet there are a few bad things about this laptop. The resolution is mediocre quality, especially when there are fingerprints on the screen. Its also very easy to leave fingerprints and smudges on the screen. The speakers are placed in a bad spot for tablet use to where the screen blocks the sound.

The R11 is the ideal perfect chromebook. The price of it is expense but you get what you paid for and i would say it is worth it. The fact that it folds is a nice aspect, the hinges won't break as easy. The size of it is not too big and not too small. The touch screen is a great quality also. The sound is really great, it doesn't muffle when you turn it up all the way, nice and crisp. The cover is scratch resistance which is nice for taking in and out of backpacks. The battery life last longer and is good for one full school day. The only quality i didn't like about about this chromebook was that the power button was on the side of the frame.

I love the size, the screen goes all the way back so it will be harder for the screen to bend backwards and snap off. The sound is great, I barely turned it up and it was loud.  Only problem I have with the vision is it’s kind of blurry and small. Probably easier to take screen off. The tablet will help students who are better with touch screens. Screen easily can be cleaned. The brightness doesn’t get that bright.

I love that it bends back into a table but also still has the keyboard to use if you are not going to use the touch screen. That also helps so people can remember how to type on a keyboard. The sound is very clear and you can hear it very easily. I strongly dislike that the power button is on the side of the chromebook. It is just in an awkward and weird place to be in. the keys also do not stick so it is easier to type on the keyboard.

The Acer R11 chromebook is also a touch screen. It transforms into a tablet. It seems like it could get broke off the hinges. The screen is bright and the video quality is good, but it could get dirty easily with finger prints. The sound is very clear and loud. The screen is a good size being 11.6 inches. There is a 16gb hard drive. The battery life is only 9.5 hours.

The Chromebook R11 is much slimmer than the existing chromebooks, which also makes them much lighter therefore they are easier to transport around. The screens are touch screen which would be much more convenient and more versatile. They would also be more enjoyable to use. The outside of the chromebook is also made of out aluminum which makes it lighter and less brittle than the plastic covers. The downsides to these is that the touch screens would likely be more expensive to repair. The screens will get dirtier easier, and likely the aluminum would be more expensive to repair as well.
